A view from my side.
Ex#2 is spending the month of October in Bolivia. She is seriously considering relocating there when she retires and joining an Ex-Pat community down there. She has been in contact with them for a while and is spending time with them, staying in different homes while she investigates whether or not she might actually move there in 12 years or so. Of course, leave it to her to pick one of two land locked countries in South America.
The boys think it’s great…their mother the adventurer. She has always had that streak in her and it was one of the many things that drew us together in the first place. Neither of us are afraid to “pick up and go.” When we lived in Dallas, we used to take spontaneous trips to places like Taos, NM and Prince Edward Island. We would point at a map, take a day or two to arrange time off, load up the van and be gone. Sometimes the trips were to places known and missed, like Austin or the Gulf Coast. Other times we were off on a new adventure to a place we’d read about in Conde Nast Traveler. Spontaneous and spirited, she was always willing to step out on a limb.
So, now she’s out on another limb. I wish her well.
